Uptown

Uptown is known for its old roots. From the 1920 through the 1950, Uptown was the place to go for Entertainment. If you know your history well, you will know that during these thirty years is when we had the era of Prohibition. At the same time Chicago was getting known for some of the biggest gangsters to ever hit the world. Although it no longer has gangsters running the street Uptown has still kept its ability to pull in the crowds, with hot spots like the Aragon Ballroom, Riveria Theater and the well known Jazz club, and the Green Mill.

Uptown is located on the north side of the city. It is bordered by Lake Michigan to the east. Irving Park Road is the southern border. To the west you will be able to go as far as Clark Street and the northern border is Foster Avenue.

Within these boarders you will find, interesting shops, casual dining, dive bars, ethnic restaurants, exciting clubs, eclectic boutiques, and beautiful shoreline fields and parklands. There are not many in the city of Chicago, but Uptown has a public skate park where rollerbladers and skateboarders can get themselves ready for the future X-Games.

Public transportation is a snap with the Red and Purple CTA El Lines running through and the buses hitting all major streets.
